An AI Short Film Fest to explore what's possible

In the depth of winter we decided to host a short film fest to stretch ourselves and to help grow our amazingly talented interns. All films had to be conceptualised around "The Longest Night", had to feature Monkey and Donkey and any AI tools could be used in any combination. Boring videos were discouraged.

ep 1 : Party Animals

The longest night brings out the biggest party animals. In this video we used a combo of image generation, image to video generation, text to video animation, AI enhancement of both stills and video and some old skool editing to bring the madness to life.

The Video

We explored Video to Video to create a particular animated look that was both endearing and menacing. All input video is stock footage which really opens up possibilities for making more videos like this.

The music is a WW2 Russian song called Dark is the Night.

ep 3 - Dreamscape Adventures by Papi Raborife

Papi some wondrous dream-like madness in his short AI film where the longest night means more hours to be creative.

Papi has been an Art director for some years now but because he never stops exploring, he chose to intern with us on this project - and hone his already sharp AI skills.

ep 4 - Dream Big by Olivia von Vollenhoven

Olivia is a student who loves to push herself and take life as one big adventure to learn from – which is why she chose to intern with us at MonkeyDonkey and learn more about Creative AI.

In her short AI film, she wanted to show the crazy possibilities and adventure you can have if you dream big so she took her characters on a wild adventure.

ep 5 - Majestic Friendships by Chelsea Lourenco

Chelsea believes that creativity knows no boundaries and is eager to use AI to bring her dreams into reality.

In her beautiful short film, she explores the parallels of majesty and bright beauty in friendships, music (Starry Night by Blomqvist) and the Carina Nebula on the longest night.
